Job Description

The Talk with me Baby Senior Nurse Navigator reports to the TWMB Project Director and is responsible for the ongoing implementation and contributing to the continuous improvement of the initiative throughout Grady Health System and acting as a TWMB consultant/facilitator/implementation expert in other hospital/medical settings as assigned.

Job Responsibilities 

Facilitates training and implementation for TWMB in various settings/organizations with minimal supervision:

  1. Trains clinical staff to be TWMB coaches, including the development, customization and roll-out of coach training and supportive resources, using adult learning principles in groups and one on one.
  2. Guides peers in new training experiences and assists towards identified goal
  3. Coaches and supports management/supervisory staff, including Nurse Navigators/Educators/Clinical Supervisors to improve TMWB implementation in the departments.
  4. Coaches nurses, providers, other clinical staff, and support staff
  5. Assists in the design of systems and processes to help team members with engagement and monitors the use of these processes and systems across team efforts.
  6. Participates in continuous improvement of training and staff coaching methods
  7. Identifies effective strategies for engaging clinical staff in the implementation, including strategies to integrate documentation/data collection and monitoring into daily patient care activities
  8. Leads development of supplemental learning/training opportunities, such as annual competencies, consults with our content partners, and integrates the utilization of in-house resources (e.g., Grady U) where indicated/feasible
  9. Independently manages in-house utilization of educational software and resources to support TWMB training (e.g., GradyU) and reporting in collaboration with Grady’s Talent Development Team (e.g., Coach Training, refresher courses, Annual Competencies, integration of Rollins’ training resources, etc.)

Coaches families and documents patient/family interactions in hospital patient records systems accurately and timely

Supports overall TWMB quality, improvement, and innovation

  1. Participate actively in program development, annual goal setting, and continuous quality improvement.
  2. Collects, enters and reports data concerning training, program implementation and outcomes.
  3. Works with the TWMB Data Analyst, Project Director, and unit management teams to collect and review implementation data and develop appropriate action plans to improve the results and quality of the TWMB implementation.
  4. Offers non-judgmental, evidence and/or experienced-based advice based on the development and implementation of the program, protocols and resources.
  5. Supports identification and mitigation of operational and reputational risks.
  6. Assists project director in the development of vision, annual goals, implementation strategies and vision for TWMB

Education

  • BSN Required
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Education or related field preferred

Experience 

Required:

·       3 years of experience as neonatal/pediatric and/or maternal RN in an acute, physician or community clinic setting.

·       1-year clinical supervision and/or leading/managing a team of 2 or more

·       Experience implementing language-based intervention initiatives/programs (e.g., TWMB) in a medical setting

·       Teaching/coaching experience with professional and support staff and/or parents/families in groups and one on one.

·       Effective classroom and online meeting/teaching facilitation and coaching skills

·       Strong situational analysis skills/Emotional Intelligence

·       Independently able to identify barriers to success and develop effective solutions collaboratively with others

·       Strong MS Office/Teams skills, including MS Office, SharePoint and OneDrive

·       Facility with social and other computer-based applications

·       Strong data management/analysis skills

·       Excellent written and verbal communication

·       Excellent time management skills; able to manage multiple priorities with ease

 

Preferred

·       Experience as Consultant/Subject Matter Expert

·       Experience administering/supporting Learning Management Systems

·       Public health nursing experience

·       Quality management experience

·       Clinical/social/public health research experience, including data collection, analysis and reporting. 

Skills/Cert/Licenses

·       RN, licensed in GA

·       Current Basic Life Support

·       Nursing Professional Development Certification preferred
